Leopard in a tree in the Nsefu Sector, South Luangwa National Park

NSEFU SECTOR

Twenty-five minutes
south. A world
of its own.

The Nsefu Sector is one of the most celebrated wildlife areas in South Luangwa National Park — a remote, game-rich corner of the park on the eastern bank of the Luangwa, 25 minutes south of Chibembe by vehicle. The Luangwa bends here in a way that concentrates habitat and wildlife in extraordinary density.

Leave Chibembe before the morning mist has cleared. Game drives along the Luangwa bend. Return to the camp as the confluence comes into view again — the sundowner spot already chosen, the firepit being laid.

“The Nsefu Sector is South Luangwa at its most concentrated. The Luangwa bends. The wildlife gathers. It has its own ecosystem.”
